School-Age

Our school-age program provides care for children before and after school, weekdays, when school is not in session (excluding major holidays), and full-day summer care. This program is designed for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade. Parents can rest assured that the Skaneateles Central School District will provide transportation for pick-up and drop-off for children enrolled in our program.

This program offers a safely- supervised classroom in a relaxed setting where children may choose among a variety of activities in the company of caring staff. These activities meet the developmental needs of young school-age children. Children may choose from daily planned activities, games, blocks, reading. dramatic play, and physical activity outdoors or in our multi-purpose space.

We also provide a quiet time and space for children who choose to do their homework. Our goal is to provide an environment similar to what you might expect to see at “home” after-school. A place where children are trusted to choose what they like and prefer to do; where adults will be there to facilitate learning and provide affection and behavioral limits, and where teachers are interested in each child as a unique individual.
